Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Guwahati to Khowang Tea Estate
Arrive at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, where you’ll meet your dedicated driver and guide for the journey. If time permits, begin with a visit to the sacred Maa Kamakhya Temple, one of the oldest and most revered Shakti Peethas, located atop Nilachal Hill (Temple gate opens at 8:00 AM).
Later, drive to Khowang Tea Estate and unwind with your first night amidst the tranquil beauty of Assam’s rolling tea gardens.
Day 2: Tea Garden Immersion & Cultural Evening
After breakfast, meet our local tea expert and head into the lush tea gardens to learn about tea plucking, cultivation, and the history of Assam tea. Spend time interacting with the tea tribe communities, gaining insight into their daily lives and traditions.
In the evening, enjoy high tea followed by a vibrant cultural dance performance by members of the tea tribe and local community—a true celebration of Assam’s spirit.
Day 3: Tea Factory Tour & Colonial Heritage
Begin your day with a visit to the local tea factory to learn about the fascinating process of tea production—from withering to rolling to drying. Participate in a guided tea tasting session, sampling a variety of Assam blends.
Later, explore heritage bungalows built during the British era, offering a glimpse into colonial architecture and plantation life. Return to your accommodation and relax after a culturally rich day.
Day 4: Heritage Sites & River Stay
Check out after breakfast and drive towards Sivasagar and Sonari, regions steeped in the glorious history of the Ahom dynasty. Explore ancient temples, royal palaces, and historical landmarks that speak of a once-powerful Assamese kingdom.
In the evening, head to Bogibeel, where you’ll spend the night aboard the Kanchenjunga River Boat, surrounded by the serenity of the Brahmaputra River.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out and proceed to either Guwahati or Dibrugarh Airport for your onward journey—taking with you the aroma of fresh tea, heartfelt stories, and a deeper connection to Assam.
